I will be traveling from time to time with limited luggage space and I might need a little fill in flash. While I will be saving space by taking my Sony A7II instead of the bulky heavy Nikon I will need something to have just incase. Yongnuo YN560‑IV is too large in bulky.

I searched online and found Neewer NW-610 Mini but didn't find many detailed reviews on it. This flash is the exact flash as the Viltrox JY610II. They are built by the same company, Viltrox.
As far as reviews, I found some YouTube videos they were in either Spanish or French so I decided take the risk to try it out for $30. Viltrox JY610II is actually cheaper by a few dollars. I decided to go with the Neewer because I knew the brand better and used other products they distributed and I was happy with the quality. They didn't disappoint this time around either.
The Neewer NW-610 Mini flash packs quite a feature set and provides great value for the cost. I received this flash and immediately you could tell that it was going to be a decent product from the the packaging. In the box there was a manual and a carrying pouch along with the flash. The quality of the materials have exceeded my expectation. Still made in China but it feels sturdy and well made even though it's just plastic.

Tested with Sony A7, Sony A7II, Sony A6000, Nikon D610.
The reason why I mention the tested camera's is because the Yongnuo YN560‑IV did not want to fire with the Sony A6000. For this flash to work with it is a huge win.
The Neewer NW-610 Mini has slave mode works very well. I was able to set it off with the built in flash on the Sony A6000. Speaking of the builtin in flash on the Sony A6000. This Neewer NW-610 Mini is 2x more powerful than the build in flash.
Uses 2 AA batteries.
Recycle time is very fast using ENELOOP batteries.
This light will not be powerful enough to use in the studio maybe as a (hair light). It will also not make a huge impact when used outside in the daylight.
Cost: 5/5
Quality: 5/5
Size: 5/5
Usability: 4/5 ( could be more powerful)
